    The Senior Student Services Advisor - Operations is primarily responsible for providing telephone and email support to the Office of Licensing & Credentialing, Office of Hospital Partnerships and Compliance, Office of Academic Analytics and Learning Management Systems, Office of Alumni Relations and serving as a back-up to the advisement teams. The Senior Student Services Advisors works closely with the Assistant Director of Student Service Operations to ensure all departments are backed-up via phone. This position is also responsible in maintaining and updating SOP’s for the Student Services group. This position will also work closely with the International Student Services Advisor – Operations in providing back-up assistance in managing the coordination of the visa issuance and planning for students in both the medical sciences and clinical sciences. This position will work closely with the Director, Student Service Operations and Immigration and other key stakeholders.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide tier 1 advisement to the Office of Licensing and Credentialing, Office of Hospital Partnerships and Compliance, Office of Academic Analytics and Learning Management Analytics and the Office of Alumni Relations. Serves as a back-up to the advisement teams.
    • Demonstrate comprehensive expertise in all departments and our corresponding policies and procedures
    • Ensure that student information is current, accurate and complete
    • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure a consistently outstanding educational experience for our deserving students
    • Ensures incoming calls are answered and routed appropriately.
    • Reviews and acknowledges student or hospital requests received via phone, fax, e-mail or in-person. 
    • Expediently manages and maintains request queues in e-mail box or in database.
    • Actively participates in teams to continuously learn/improve and drive quality into Ross University’s service to the customer. 
    • Works with RUSM administration and the International Student Services Advisor - Operations in processing visa applications and renewals for students, dependents and animals.
    • Participates in activities associated with the student check-in process for each semester in order to support the collection and monitoring of immigration documents. Attends training sessions and provides training to team on advanced immigration topics and technology.
    • Provide immediate and escalated support during times of business continuity, disaster planning and recovery in relation to immigration process, tracking, reporting, and compliance/
    • Assists with administrative support needs as requested.
    • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

    • Candidates must possess a sense of urgency and practice confidentiality. They will also serve as an advisor on policies, best practices, opportunities for continuous improvement and issues across the international services spectrum in a cross functional task force to facilitate compliance to immigration requirements. This position actively supports international services for the organization’s domestic student population, and additionally involves supporting international institutions based upon the sharing of best practices.



     

     

    Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Have worked in higher education for at least one year (or have similar directly-relevant experience)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required and some knowledge of and experience with academic programs such as Salesforce, Banner, ImageNow is preferred.
    • Have an impeccable work ethic and hold yourself accountable to the highest ethical standards
    • Are able to craft and deliver well-written, compelling messages to our students and colleagues
    • Knows and applies fundamental customer service concepts, practices and procedures to create effective customer relationships; possesses working knowledge of basic academic policies and procedures or ability to learn; dependability, strong teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; ability to meet new challenges with an open mind and an optimistic response.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with staff, faculty and students; excellent computer skills and the ability to use/learn multiple databases and other programs concurrently.
    • Demonstrated abilities to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Develops and adheres to timelines; ability to organize and prioritize.
    • Demonstrates a professional image reflected in behavior, maturity, and integrity.
    • Ability and willingness to learn quickly. Must be service oriented.
    • Candidate must be available to meet domestic and international travel requirements; Candidate should be able to travel 10% - 15% (January, May, September)
    • Must be able to work flexible hours (8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday)
