    Ross University School of Medicine is slated to permanently relocate our Medical Sciences campus to Bridgetown, Barbados in January 2019.  We are currently seeking a Manager of Purchasing & Inventory to add to our new team in Bridgetown!

    The Manager of Purchasing & Inventory will be responsible for all aspects of material acquisition and support. This includes identification, procurement, receipt and inspection, handling, inventory and distribution, staging and kitting, and control of issued material. Will also supervise  a clerical staff.

    Responsibilities

    • Plans and directs inventory control for the RUSM campus.
    • Makes decisions based on a business analysis of the items that should be put into inventory versus contracts that should be establish for "just-in-time" inventory.
    • Coordinate the delivery of goods and supplies to RUSM campus.
    • Supervise the necessary customer and technical services, requisitions, receiving, shipping, delivery operations, and quality assurance functions.
    • Oversees a pre-expensed bin stock and tool operation.
    • Supervises material control, warehousing, inventory and purchasing personnel.
    • Conduct physical inventory counts and organizing of inventory; driving, collection of various items from local vendors and the ports.
    • Develop business relationships with key stakeholders, such as vendors, customs, shippers and truckers.
    • Prepare requisitions through Lawson and manually for RUSM campus.
    • Provide clear and timely communication to requesters on open orders, discrepancies, errors or omissions on material requisitions.
    • Process and approve requisitions both manually and through Lawson.
    • Sourcing and pricing of materials and supplies and tracking of shipments.
    • Tracking and following up on outstanding orders with the suppliers.
    • Develops and continually monitors areas of responsibility.
    • Ensures work performance is at the most cost-effective rate, with safety, environment, quality, regulatory compliance, and customer needs and desires as key considerations.
    • Any other duties commensurate with the post-holder's expertise.

    Qualifications

    • Applicable Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years relevant experience required.
    • Must have 5 years demonstrated leadership and experience working in international procurements.
    • Must have 5 years demonstrated leadership and experience working in senior supervisory role.
    • Must be fully capable of generating and updating computer inventories and documents.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50k; ability to bend and climb ladders.
