    Ross University School of Medicine is slated to permanently relocate our Medical Sciences campus to Bridgetown, Barbados in January 2019.  We are currently seeking a AV Technician to add to our new team in Bridgetown!

    The Audio Visual Technician will assist audiovisual technicians in their support of faculty, staff and students with the provision of RUSM multimedia services. This includes but is not limited to operation of equipment used in the development and delivery of audiovisual media services.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Prepares audio visual equipment in all rooms prior to the commencement of lectures or other RUSM multimedia related activities.

    • Is responsible for shutting down and securing of AV equipment at the end of daily lecture sessions and other multi media activities.

    • Logs and the reporting of incidents.

    • Assist students and staff by troubleshooting problems related to the audio-visual equipment during RUSM sanctioned multimedia events.

    • Sets up and operates equipment such as cameras, lights and microphones to film, record and edit multimedia content.

    • Assist with cleaning, maintaining, troubleshooting, repair and installation of audio-visual equipment and systems including but not limited to: monitors, cameras, computers, chargers, transformers, voltage regulators, electronic circuit boards, lighting systems, audio-visual equipment, and various software and controls.

    • Perform other duties in keeping with RUSM multimedia needs as assigned by the supervisor of the Audio Visual department.

    • Assist RUSM Community (faculty, staff and students) with the production of audio and video content.

    • Responsible for providing IT support at RUSM remote sites to include; 1st level IT support, 1st level printer maintenance, and 1st level wireless/wired support;

    • Research new equipment or applications and generate a report with recommendations.

    • Complete other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of an Associate's Degree or at least two years experience in audiovisual techniques and or another related field.
    • Sound understanding of electronics, sound, multimedia production, and recording equipment operation.
    • Must have a technical aptitude.
    • Video Filming or Editing experience would be preferred.
    • Experience troubleshooting operating system issues (e.g. Windows 10, Mac OS, iOS, Android, etc.).
    • Network+ or basic networking knowledge.
    • Must be able to use power and hand tools such as screw drivers, hammers, soldering guns, cable crimping tools, testers, etc.
