    The learning platform specialist leads in providing assistance with the various learning platforms used within the Department of Clinical Foundations for pre-clerkship Clinical Skills curriculum delivery, data aggregation and reports, research and educational outcome evaluation involving all activities and assessments across all semesters in the Medical Sciences curriculum at RUSM.


    • Reports directly to the Department of Clinical Foundations Chair
    • Performs scheduling duties in collaboration with the Simulation/Standardized Patient Coordinator, the Clinical Skills Course Directors, Simulation Operations Specialists and department administrative support staff
    • Provides the lead role in managing CAE® LS functions and updates
    • Supports students and faculty in their use of and interface with CAE® LS for all departments and all curriculum activities, including producing high quality training and trouble-shooting support documents and live training sessions as needed
    • Supports CAE® LS use in the delivery of practical examinations, student performance reviews and inter-rater reliability training sessions
    • Provides research support through data collection, extraction and collation
    • Uses Excel and common data base programs to display data files from CAE® LS; likewise, transfers data from hard copy to CAE® LS as needed
    • Contributes to, participates in, and develops techniques to help analyze learner outcomes, using basic statistical operations, interpretation and presentation of reports
    • Helps insure quality and integrity of data collected from CAE® LS and other learning platforms as needed
    • Assists with generation of technical reports and documents for publication
    • Contributes creatively to innovate projects for curriculum delivery and outcomes orientated medical education research
    • Works effectively and independently with the support of an experienced team
    • Is facile with the use of computer hardware and software and effectively troubleshoots with peripheral devices such as webcams, audio recording accessories, digital displays, etc.
    • Provides student orientation to CAE® LS and answers students questions related to software scheduling and troubleshooting in person or via email in a timely manner
    • Communicates in a positive, professional manner with RUSM faculty, students and colleagues and visitors
    • Performs and completes other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Experience with CAE® LS, project management and educational research ideal and preferred
