Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM), one of the largest accredited medical schools training physicians in North America, is seeking a skilled clinical educator in psychiatry to serve as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry. The Chairperson provides guidance and oversight of an aligned, integrated, and uniform educational experience in psychiatry for medical students across 25 of clinical sites in USA. The Chairperson is the senior academic and administrative officer for clinical faculty in psychiatry distributed among more than 25 hospitals throughout the United States. The successful candidate is responsible for ensuring academic excellence and high student performance in psychiatry by driving instructional excellence among the psychiatry faculty at the clinical sites. The Chairperson is expected to establish, monitor, and as necessary refresh key performance indicators for students and faculty in psychiatry. The Chairperson will serves as the respected spokesperson for RUSM’s Department of Psychiatry among internal and external stakeholders. Because this is a part time position, the successful candidate can work remotely.

Founded in 1978 on Dominica, West Indies by entrepreneur Robert Ross, is one of the oldest and most accomplished Caribbean-based medical schools serving students primarily from the U.S. and Canada. Students complete four or five semesters of basic sciences in Portsmouth depending on the choice of curriculum track, and then complete their clinical rotations primarily at teaching hospitals and clinics in the United States.
