Opportunity at a Glance

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, the Manager, Marketing plans and implements short- and long-term marketing strategies in order to meet RUSM objectives. This includes: development and execution of marketing plans that competitively position RUSM among similar medical schools, development of marketing and recruitment collateral, serving as editorial lead for marketing communications across all platforms, project managing RUSM-wide branding initiatives, and managing vendor relationships as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements marketing strategy focusing on enrollment growth and brand awareness through integrated campaigns leveraging traditional, digital and social platforms.
  • Oversees creation of marketing collateral including, but not limited to: catalogs, view books, brochures, posters, print ads, videos, photographs, presentations, and direct mail. Serves as lead project manager for collateral-related initiatives.
  • Chief marketing copywriter for marketing communications and advertising initiatives across all platforms, and responsible for public-facing web content.
  • Assists in the production of promotional videos and photoshoots for RUSM.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external agencies of record, fulfillment house and others as necessary.
  • Oversees compliance with University design standards and trademarked assets.
  • Assists the Senior Director in day-to-day management of the marketing team, and budget planning and reconciliation.
  • Serves in a leadership role when the Senior Director of Marketing is traveling domestically and abroad.
  • Assists the Senior Director in delivering presentations illustrating campaign performance metrics and other relevant information to University stakeholders.
  • Responsible for editorial style guide; socializes to other University stakeholders.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors Degree in marketing, Master’s degree/MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in marketing; experience managing direct reports
  • Superior copywriter; experience crafting marketing communications across all platforms
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet and web applications 
  • ROI measurement, metrics development to assess ROI
  • Skilled project manager; experience developing marketing collateral
  • Strong management/supervisory background, professional presentation skills, demonstrated leadership abilities in order to implement planned campaign rollouts.  Excellent verbal/written communication skills are essential, as position involves extensive contact with co-management and internal/external customers. In-depth knowledge of marketing techniques and financial principles. Extensive web site management/creative experience. Ability to travel approximately 15%.
