Opportunity at a Glance

The Operations Analyst, reporting to the Director of Academic Analysis and Learning Management Systems, is responsible for providing value through operational process management and analysis. He/She analyzes, and interprets data and processes; developing recommendations and presenting summary findings to department leadership. The Operations Analyst supports the Office of Academic Analytics and Learning Management Systems with regard to all aspects of operational processes, solution management and project life-cycles. The incumbent will also participate in the development and maintenance of metrics, methods, identification, and reporting on operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight and management of the business processes and operations as they relate to the Office of Faculty Affairs and the Office Academic Analytics and the Office of Learning Management Systems.
  • Document appropriate procedures, instructions, and rules to share knowledge and create standards including: training documentation, job aids, tutorials and how to videos as well as conducting trainings with these materials as necessary.
  • Manage internal and external software and vender relationships, the respective administration and configuration of those systems and their interdependencies.
  • Participate in operational, accreditation, faculty, research and institutional reporting.
  • Maintain and build positive customer relationships including the ability to interface with internal business partners, project team members, IT partners, and 3rd party vendors.
  • Identify business improvement and automation needs to create or update operational processes and reports based on operational needs by formulating and concisely documenting functional, design and automation specifications.
  • Provides primary problem diagnosis and coordinate resolution ensuring root cause is determined.
  • Drive business process and solution enhancements by identification of continual improvement.
  • Lesioning across business units to ensure that workflows and data entry processes align with best practices and maximize efficiency, quality, functionality of the systems.
  • Conduct and document system and reporting requirements, functional specifications, and system designs to ensure satisfactory deliverables to the business which maximize RUSM’s technology investment.
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Analysis and Learning Management Systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  
  • Capability to take responsibility for a project from start to finish.
  • Working knowledge of operational reporting with ability to build, audit and make recommendations to operational and ad-hoc reports highly desirable.
  • Ability to quickly understand business models and the relationship between departments, their processes, and the way which processes flow through the departments and systems.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing. Must have excellent skills in management, organization, communication (written and oral), public speaking and computer skills.
  • Ability to learn new applications as necessary either from system documentation and/or side-by-side observations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of reporting to support business operations, policy formulation and systems.
  • Experience in developing and documenting technical requirements to drive solution enhancements to support business needs.
  • Experience in managing interdepartmental processes and tasks via systems and automated processes.
