    The Simulation Center is a division of The Internal Medicine Foundations (IMF) a six-week clinical clerkship is designed to provide students with experience and added skills in the clinical setting with the usage of different simulation modalities. Located in South Florida, we run simulation for approximately 900 third-year medical students each year, divided into 6 semesters.


    We are currently seeking for per diem simulation teaching fellow applicants in the Miramar Florida Area. IDEAL CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN THE MIAMI-DADE/BROWARD COUNTIES AREA, NO RELOCATION PACKAGE OFFER.  Responsibilities include assisting Medical Director, Junior Clinical Teaching Fellow staff and Simulation Manager in all areas of IMF and Simulation Center instructions and other activities as assigned.


    The ideal applicant should be able to engage, mentor, and teach a diverse student body, as well as, work closely and cohesively with other Clinical Teaching Fellows as a team under the instruction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and Simulation Manager. To this aim, he/she must possess excellent teaching, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills. It is also important the Simulation Teaching Fellow be self-directed and to work effectively as a member of the IMF team. Candidates must be motivated by working on complex, ever-evolving initiatives that are student driven.

    • Assist the Simulation Manager operating and maintaining all clinical simulators and skill trainers, providing Becker mock CS student Feedbacks, teaching CHS ACC electives.
    • Assist with IMF instruction: teach OSCE/standardized patient formative and summative exercises, simulation and skills lab sessions, provide guidance on history-taking, write-ups, SOAP notes, design test questions and proctor exams
    • Assist in grading process as directed
    • Assist with other instructional activities, as assigned by Medical Director, Assistant Director, Junior Clinical Teaching Fellows and Simulation Manager
    • Serve as mentors to a cohort of students, maintaining close communication with each student and providing guidance in all aspects of their performance, including visits to clinical sites
    • Assist with teaching senior elective rotations off site, as required
    • Weekend travel for mock CS examinations, as needed
    • Team up with Junior Clinical Teaching Fellow staff to ensure that adequate needs, gaps, staffing, and logistics; ensuring optimum student experiences and Backup coverage during residence interview season.
    • Operate computer controlled mannequin simulation and AV system equipment with the ability to follow medical aspects of training scenarios and make appropriate adjustments based on participant actions
    • Supports simulation faculty during the planning, setting up and running of simulation events preparing, applications, props placement, and moulage to create a realistic healthcare setting that meet assigned teaching objectives.
    • Facilitates simulation training and provides collaborative feedback to Director, Junior Clinical Teaching Fellow staff and Simulation Manager
    • Responsible for input and tracking of information associated with mock CS data
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Must be a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine
    • Must have an M.D. degree and completed all clinical rotations by March 31, 2018
    • Must have graduated within twelve months prior to the start date of the position
    • Must have passing scores on all three USMLE examinations (Step 1, Step 2 CK and CS)
    • Satisfactory (or better) grade in 5th semester, preferably, to have been undertaken in the Miami program
    • Satisfactory (or better) grades in all subsequent activities undertaken as RUSM student, including performance on NBME qualifying exams
    • Strong teaching skills and experience; or evidence of potential
    • Must work well on a team and show flexibility
    • Excellent communication skills in English
    • Desire for self-improvement
